The Kittitas middle school science staff have been reviewing the Next Generation Science Standards and reviewing materials to help support these standards. The secondary school staff is recommending the 2018 edition of Science and Technology Concepts (STC) published by Carolina as the material to use with our students. Next Generation Science Standards are broken up into three major areas: Physical, Life and Earth/Space Science. In the district office, for your review, is the Structure and Function kit under the Life Sciences. The Kittitas School Directors will consider adoption of this material at their March board meeting. The materials are currently displayed in the school board room located at 601 North Pierce. with supporting documentation available. Our office hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Safety is one of our district's top priorities and to help safeguard our school community, we are now using SafeSchools Alert. SafeSchools Alert is a tip reporting service that allows students, staff, and parents to submit safety concerns to our administration four different ways:
You and your child can easily report tips on bullying, harassment, drugs, vandalism or any safety issue you are concerned about. Every tip SafeSchools Alert receives about our district is immediately logged in the system and our administration is notified so they can investigate and take appropriate action. And, tips may also be submitted anonymously if you prefer.
Please contact your building administrator, or district office staff, with any questions.
