On Wednesday October 19, 2022, the Kittitas Secondary Family, Career and Community Leaders of America(FCCLA) traveled to the Selah Civic Center to attend the Washington State FCCLA Region 7 Fall Meeting hosted by the Washington State Vice President of Region 7, Clare Richards, and the Washington State Vice President of Community Service, Gigi Gemache. The day was filled with networking with chapters from across the region, a roll call activity, recognition for those who competed at the 2022 FCCLA National Leadership Conference, evaluator training, and several activities to teach about the FCCLA organization. In addition, students learned about the FCCLA statewide community service project which will be collecting foods and keeping in mind those individuals who may have food allergies. Over 200 food items were collected at the meeting. The FCCLA National IMPACT Fund helps FCCLA chapters across the nation with financial needs, and the Washington Region 7 FCCLA chapters will donate $218.50 to the IMPACT Fund as a result of their basket raffle held throughout the event. Students are looking forward to the next regional event which will be held January 25th.
