The Kittitas Public Schools Foundation was involved with the gifting of a baby grand piano from long time members, Duane and Marge Skeen, for use in Kittitas Secondary School. The cost of moving and tuning the piano was paid by the Foundation with a donation from Peggy Clerf Tehan and her husband John. In honor of Veterans Day next week, both 4th grade classes had a very special guest join them for a morning! Students had the opportunity to meet Jeremy Parks, a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served for 30.5 years—and who also happens to be Ms. Parks’ father! Joining the classes via Zoom all the way from Indiana, Mr. Parks shared stories about his time in the Navy, what life is like in retirement, and what Veterans Day means to him personally. Students were inspired as they listened and wrapped up the visit with thoughtful questions about his service and his many duty stations around the world. Thank you, Mr. Parks, for your service and for sharing your experiences with our 4th graders! ❤️💙 #KittitasCoyotes
